At Fern & Feather Forest School, we believe uninterrupted time in nature fosters confident, independent learners and lifelong stewards of the environment. Serving families in Philomath, Corvallis, and beyond, our nature-based preschool and summer camps provide a "flow-style" curriculum where social-emotional development happens naturally.

In our outdoor classroom at Skirvin Park—with access to the Mary’s River, open meadows, and forest trails—children engage in unstructured play that builds resilience and critical thinking. From climbing trees and mud kitchens to collaborative problem-solving, our students embrace the "liquid sunshine" of the Mid-Willamette Valley while learning to endure discomfort and delay gratification.

We offer a sensory-rich alternative to traditional childcare, allowing imaginations to run wild in the least restrictive environment possible.
After all, children can’t bounce off the walls if there aren’t any!

Coyle Outside
Coyle Outside is a family-oriented entertainment organization focused on Western heritage and logging industry traditions that built our community. We plan, carry out and support events reflecting contemporary community interests while promoting volunteerism, public involvement, and regional learning. Our Forest Preschool program operates on the southern end of our property, combining outdoor education with community values and environmental stewardship.

We explore how technology and community can strengthen neighborhoods while preserving essential human crafts. Through books, bread, gardening, and teaching, we cultivate common ground where all may flourish, emphasizing craft economy principles and sustainable practices that connect heritage with neighbors.
